Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease

Dr. Cena is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography. He is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. Dr. Cena earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical University of Silesia in Poland. He practiced medicine in England before moving to the United States where he underwent his cardiovascular training. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training in Chicago at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and General Cardiology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He obtained his Interventional Cardiology training at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital. He earned additional experience in treating end stage heart disease and managing patients on mechanical circulatory support by completing an Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant fellowship at the Methodist DeBakey Hospital in Houston.

His professional interests focus on delivering comprehensive, personalized and patient-centered care. Dr. Cena advocates that every patient is unique and believes that in order to achieve the best cardiovascular outcomes for his patients he must make sure that all of their coexisting pathologies are properly addressed and optimized. In his free time, Dr. Cena enjoys unwinding with his wife and daughter. He enjoys reading about European history and being outdoors. Carpentry and woodworking keep him busy on his days off.
