Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease
Mark A. Shima, M.D., FACC, FACP, FSCAI is Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Shima is a graduate of the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, IL. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Following receipt of his Doctor of Medicine degree, he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
Active in both professional and civic organizations, Dr. Shima has been honored as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions and has been providing cardiology services since 1984.
Dr. Shima’s professional interests include management of patients with coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure. He also enjoys teaching medical students and residents including EKG evaluation and pathophysiologic correlation between cardiac physical exam and cardiac illness. His personal interests include Skeet Shooting and home improvement projects. He loves to travel with his wife to see their grandchildren in the Chicago area.
