Oscar Rivera, M.D., is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. Dr. Rivera specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Cardiovascular Disease.
Dr. Rivera is a graduate of University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, PR. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, PR. He completed his Residency and Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Rivera went on to complete his Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
His professional interests include taking care of patients in the critical care unit, as well as treating patients with heart failure. He says,“ I truly believe in building a personal relationship with my patients.” Dr. Rivera also has a special interest in the management of atherosclerotic heart disease and peripheral arterial disease. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, and playing sports.
