Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology and is a Diplomat in Endovascular Medicine (ABVM)

Sartaj S. Hans, M.D., FACC, FSCAI, RPVI is Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology and is a Diplomat in Endovascular Medicine (ABVM). Dr. Hans is also Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.

Dr. Hans earned his medical degree at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India, which is the pre-eminent medical school in India. He then completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Hans then went on to join a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, NY, followed by a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS. He subsequently completed a two year Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans, LA.

Dr. Hans’ professional interests include advanced and complex coronary interventions. He has expertise in supporting hearts with pumps (Percutaneous VADs such as Impella and Tandem heart) while nursing them to recovery. He has advanced training and certification in endovascular treatment of peripheral vascular disease, including non-surgical stent based treatment of carotid disease, stent grafts for AAA repair, and limb preservation and salvage for Critical limb ischemia. He also has training in structural heart interventions for ASD/PFO closure and percutaneous valve replacement.

Dr. Hans is a firm believer in shared decision making for care with the patient and family. He emphasizes compassionate comprehensive care for the whole spectrum of cardiovascular disease.

During his downtime, Dr. Hans enjoys spending time with his family and his outside interests include travel, golf, and football.
